Our intermediate teacher Farah’s belly dance journey started unexpectedly, when a roommate moved out and left her a hip scarf stating “you should take classes one day”. It would be a couple years before she had the courage to sign up, but once she took her first class with Sahdia Saraab she was hooked! She has been belly dancing for over 8 years, and a member of Saraab since 2015. She has attended many workshops and studied under world-renowned teachers such as Ahmed Hussein, Tamalyn Dallal, Amar Gamal, Petite Jamila, Virginia, and more. She has performed professionally for many years, entertaining at events such as weddings, birthdays, and corporate events. She also danced for many years at a Hookah Bar in Fort Walton Beach. Along with dancing, she also picked up some basic sewing skills and even learned to create many of her costumes. She is excited to expand her dance career into teaching and sharing all the information she has learned in her years dancing.
